This service works by redirecting incoming e-mails directly to our server for filtering, before being rerouted to the "real" e-mail server. It's easy, no software to install. No rules lists to maintain. You can go on about your business and leave the junk email filtering to us.
One of the greatest advantages of a hosted spam filtering service is its platform neutral nature. All messaging systems are supported by default, ranging from Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, to standard POP or IMAP servers.
ENDPOINT PROTECTION
Unlike the hard to predict costs of operating and maintaining servers over any length of time, hosted spam filtering providers charge a fixed rate per protected domain, which serves to eliminate hidden or unanticipated costs. HOW IT WORKS
- Mail is directed to our servers
- We score the email message based on a number of rules
- If the email message scores below a value we determine the email message not to be SPAM it is then delivered to your email server
- If the email message is a virus we delete it immediately
- If an email message scores above a value we determine it to be SPAM and quarantine the message
- Overnight we send an email message to each mailbox listing all quarantined SPAM so if it is a ‘false’ positive it can be forced and sent for analysis so we can create a rule to allow it to pass later and not quarantined
